Casey McKinnon (born March 13 1978) is an actress, writer, video editor and producer from Montreal, Canada. She is known for her work on web series Galacticast, A Comicbook Orange and Kitkast; as well as her regular contributions to The Guardian.

Background
Born and raised in Montreal[1], McKinnon attended St. Thomas High School with boyfriend Rudy Jahchan and studied East Asian studies at McGill University[2] alongside royal friend Autumn Kelly[3]. Before pursuing a full time career in new media, she worked for the United Nations[4].
Career
Internet Television
McKinnon first became known under the pseudonym Ms. Kitka, the host of sex news and entertainment show Kitkast launched on October 15, 2005. Inspired by podcasting and British television show Sin Cities, the show garnered mainstream attention from Rolling Stone and The Guardian. However, due to an itching desire to make a science fiction show, she decided to move onto other projects and launched Galacticast with her boyfriend Rudy Jahchan on May 8, 2006[5]. The show's popularity garnered five Vloggie awards[6] and three Parsec nominations[7], and the production duo were later named the third sexiest geeks of 2006 by blogger Violet Blue[8]. Under corporation name 8Bit Brownies Inc., the two went on to co-produce a short miniseries for Next New Networks filmed at South by Southwest called Pulp Secret Confessions[9] and later launched the comic book and graphic novel review show A Comicbook Orange on June 6, 2006 where McKinnon worked as host[10]. In July 2007, McKinnon was hired to host Pulp Secret Live At Comic-Con, where she made a daily update show live from the San Diego Comic-Con[11], interviewing famous comic book creators, such as Brian Wood.
On November 22, 2007, McKinnon announced that she was seeking new opportunities[12] and it was later revealed that she left Galacticast[13]. Following the incident, a small band of passionate fans rallied on social bookmarking site Digg to get her a new series on internet television network Revision3[14].
Journalism
In July 2007, she started writing a monthly column for The Guardian following her experiences working in web video[15]. The articles connect new media to their Hollywood predecessors and reflect a desire for internet television to be taken seriously by the old media community.
