Carl Whitaker was a US psychiatrist and pioneer family therapist who co-developed the experiential approach to therapy and the use of co-therapists. Carl Whitaker worked at a VA Hospital and focused his work on schizophrenic patients. Carl Whitaker is the father of Symbolic-Experiential Therapy.
