Cardinal is a village in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville of eastern Ontario situated on the Saint Lawrence River. The village is situated in the township of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal. The village, originally known as Point Cardinal, used to be the site of a canal which bypassed the Galop Rapids. The canal was no longer required after the construction of the Saint Lawrence Seaway. A plant (CASCO) that produces corn starch is located at Cardinal.
