CamelBak is an outdoors equipment company known primarily for their hydration packs. Hydration packs from many other companies, such as GoLite, Kelty, Novara, Platypus, and Gelert are often mistakenly referred to as CamelBaks, an example of a genericized trademark.
CamelBaks classically come in 50 - 100 oz. back pack style primarily for biking, but smaller belt-type 28 - 45 oz. packs for running and walking are also available.
The CamelBak Company also makes bottles, general purpose backpacks, and some specialized military and law-enforcement gear, ranging from simple back-worn water bladders with little to no cargo capacity, to large rucksacks with numerous accessories, even PALS webbing to accommodate MOLLE gear.
CamelBak also manufactures a line of water bottles, generally made of polycarbonate like those made by competitor Nalgene, but with a dip straw and a collapsible bite valve. The Camelbak headquarters are in Petaluma, California.
