History

Tekken 2

Bruce Irvin is highly skilled in the art of Muay Thai. At an early age, Bruce lost his father, mother, and older brother, and he turned to fighting, eventually joining the police force and working alongside Lei Wulong. He was a respected American cop and a role model for children, as shown in his endings. When Bruce was sent to Japan to investigate Kazuya Mishima, the plane crashed (a setup by Kazuya himself) and Bruce lost his memories. Kazuya found him and hired him as a bodyguard. At the second King of Iron Fist tournament , he found himself fighting his old partner Lei, who was sent to find him and arrest Kazuya. In the end, Bruce was defeated and escaped on another airplane which also exploded.

Tekken 5

Many thought that Bruce was dead, but in Tekken 5, it was revealed that Bruce had been working for several special units, and he was currently working as a survival technical guidance instructor. He entered The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 in order to test his skills once again.

Tekken 6

After becoming reacquainted with Kazuya Mishima at the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5, Bruce Irvin decided to assist Kazuya with his scheme to takeover G Corporation, and after they had succeeded Kazuya managed to control the corporation from behind closed doors. G Corporation waged war with the Mishima Financial Group (MFG), and Bruce, as Kazuya’s captain, led Kazuya’s private corps into battle, fighting the MFG the world over. Soon afterwards, G Corporation made preparations to annihilate the MFG by placing an enormous bounty on Jin, and as anticipated, the MFG began to show signs of movement; The opening of King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 was announced. Bruce Irvin has entered the tournament to capture Jin…

Other appearances

Bruce appears as a playable character in the non-canon Tekken Tag Tournament. He also makes an appearance in Tekken: The Motion Picture when fighting Jack-2. Bruce breaks his fist against Jack-2's steel alloy and Jack-2 knocks him into the water.

Endings

Tekken 2

Bruce is practicing with a sandbag. An excited youngster looks through the window. Bruce puts on several combos and his mighty kick bursts the bag, surprising the boy. Bruce smiles and flashes him the thumbs up.

Tekken Tag Tournament

Bruce throws many punches and kicks towards the camera. When he finishes, many people are seen defeated on the ground, and Heihachi Mishima and Kazuya Mishima are among them.

Tekken 5

In an urban neighborhood, a boy is punching a sandbag. Three gangsters come and harass him. They cut open the sandbag with a pocket knife, beat the boy up and take his boxing gloves. Bruce appears and beats up the three gangsters and returns the gloves to the boy. He tells the boy to keep it up before walking away.

Fighting Style

Although Bruce and Bryan Fury share some moves, their fighting styles are completely different. Bryan is more of a Brawler who utilizes Modern Kickboxing, where as Bruce employs the "art of the eight limbs" Muay Thai Kickboxing. For example, Bruce can perform a double left kick like Bryan, but he cannot add a right kick or right uppercut to the end. Also, he can add a second left punch to his left-right-left combo, an addition that Bryan has lost after Tekken 4. Bruce cannot perform Run for Cover, only the first kick of that combo, which he has a stronger version of. His trademark left sweep kick to left uppercut is an attack that Bryan could always only half perform.
