Brock High School is a public high school located in Cannington, Ontario. It falls within the Durham District School Board, and serves families in Brock Township. The school has students in grades 9 through 12 and offers a wide range of academic and extra-curricular activities.

The school was based on designs by Shore & Moffat Architects, and was constructed in 1952. Classes began in 1953. The school has experienced four major architectural expansions during its history.

Region and Location

Brock High School serves families from the towns of Cannington, Beaverton, Sunderland, and the rural families of Brock Township. It is the northmost high school in the Durham District School Board. The school is located on the south side of the 12th concession of Brock Township approximately 1.5 kilometres west of the town of Cannington.

Motto and Mission Statement

The official school motto is "Altiora Peto", meaning "I Seek Higher Things". The mission statement is the acronym DAWGS (a play on the school mascot, the bulldog). It stands for "Dedicated Achievers With Goals and Strategies".

People

Brock High School has approximately 50 full-time and part-time teaching staff. Four office staff, three kitchen staff and six custodians are also employed by the school.[1]

There were 695 students enrolled during the 2005/2006 school year. [2]
