Biography

Personal life

Krause was born in El Toro, California. He grew up in Southern California and graduated from El Toro High School in 1987.[2] He has one brother, Patrick, and a son, Jamen born in 1996 to his ex-wife, Beth Bruce.[2] In his spare time, Krause enjoys playing golf, tennis, basketball, and playing Scrabble with friends and family.[2] Krause also loves to race cars.[2] He also dated and lived with Charmed co-star, Alyssa Milano for 2 years.

Career

Before beginning a career in acting, Krause originally wanted to follow a career in sports medicine, and for a short time pursued a semi-professional soccer career.[2] An incident with a bully in junior high caused Krause to change courses and he began acting lessons.[2] While breaking into the acting business, Krause worked several jobs ranging from construction to working as an electrician.[2] At 16, he enrolled in professional acting classes and shortly began working on television.[2] In 1991, he took the role of Richard Lestrange in the romance adventure sequel Return to the Blue Lagoon. A year later, he also starred opposite Alice Krige, playing Charles Brady in the horror film Sleepwalkers. In 1998, he was cast to play the role of Leo Wyatt for the WB series Charmed. He starred in the series for the entire run of the series' eight seasons. Fifth season episode "Sense and Sense Ability" was developed from a story idea of Krause's. His role in the show was cut down considerably in the eighth season due to budget cuts. He is set to guest star on the CBS spin-off series CSI: Miami. He will play Robert Whitten, a former football hero under investigation for murder.
