Brandon Jacobs (born July 6, 1982 in Houma, Louisiana) is an American football running back for the New York Giants of the National Football League. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. With a rare combination of 4.54 speed and impressive size (around 6ft 4½ and 264lbs), Jacobs has been an asset for the Giants in goal-line situations. He led all rookies in rushing touchdowns with 7 in the 2005 season.

Jacobs was raised in Napoleonville, Louisiana, and attended local high school Assumption High and later Coffeyville Community College. National recruiting service Rivals.com listed Jacobs the No.1 JUCO prospect in America in 2003. He signed with Auburn but was relegated to 3rd team halfback on the depth chart behind eventual Top 5 NFL draft picks Ronnie Brown and Carnell "Cadillac" Williams. Despite less playing time, Jacobs was 2nd on the team with 72 carries for 446 yards (6.2 yard avg) and 3 touchdowns. Unhappy with playing time, and after a personal phone conversation with fellow running back and good friend Muhammad Abdulqaadir, he transferred to Division I-AA Southern Illinois University for his senior season. Going into the 2006 season Jacobs stated that he studied film of famed power running back Eddie George in an effort to refine his running style. Eddie George, like Jacobs was a large power running back.[1] In the 2006 season, Jacobs carried the ball 96 times for 423 yards and 9 touchdowns. He averaged 4.4 yards per carry. He added 11 receptions for 149 yards. With the retirement of Tiki Barber, Jacobs is the odds on favorite to replace Tiki as the Giants starting running back. Jacobs has taken over the starting running back spot for the New York Giants in the 2007 season. In the 2006 NFL Season Jacobs was quoted saying that the Redskins were a "dirty team." Redskins linebacker Marcus Washington responded to Jacobs comment by saying "Well, this game ain't golf".

  • Jacobs has garnered several nicknames such as "The Beast", "The Monster", "Little Peanut", "Beastdon Jacobs", "The Bulldozer", "The Semi", "J-Truck", "J-Train", "Mr. Hightower", "The Juggernaut" and is often referred to as the "Biggest Running Back in Captivity". Some analysts have referred to him as "Drago" in reference to Ivan Drago from Rocky IV.
  • On Sunday, November 12th, 2006 Jacobs was given a 15-yard taunting penalty for celebrating a TD run by putting the ball under his shirt to resemble pregnancy. The celebration was paying homage to his wife, who was pregnant at the time.
  • He owns a custom-made Cadillac Escalade.
  • On his local New York city radio show, Max Kellerman has taken to calling Jacobs "The Juggernaut" in reference to the Marvel Comics character Juggernaut, who is an unstoppable force running forward. Whenever Kellerman mentions Jacobs an audio loop runs exclaiming "I'm the Juggernaut!" Kellerman also say "He hits you with your own pimp" in reference to a popular YouTube video of the X-men and the fact that Jacobs punishes would be tacklers.
  • Brandon's favorite movie is Big Trouble in Little China.
  • Jacobs' size has been compared to Chicago Bears Linebacker Brian Urlacher. Both men are 6'4 and weigh close to 260 pounds.
