Boomer is a fictional character in the sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica. Two versions of the characters exist, one from the original version, and one from the new version that premiered in 2003.

Original Continuity

Main article: Lieutenant Boomer

The original Boomer was a male portrayed by Herb Jefferson, Jr. Boomer was a lieutenant officer with a background in engineering, he was eventually promoted to Colonel in Galactica 1980.

New Continuity

The new Boomer are a series of humanoid Cylons portrayed by Grace Park. In this version, the character's real name is Sharon Valerii, and 'Boomer' is just a pilot call sign. It was revealed early on that "Boomer" was in fact a copy of Number Eight, a Cylon agent, so Park has numerous roles in addition to those of Boomer and Athena. Athena also initially went with the callsign Boomer.
