Bob Woodruff grew up in New York City playing rock n' roll, but found his true calling with his Gram Parsons inspired country music. While in college in New York, Woodruff founded the country-rock band "The Fields". It was with this band that he began gathering a following of believers in his brand of country soul. He eventually tried his hand as a solo artist and signed with Asylum Records in 1992. His debut album, "Dreams & Saturday Nights" which many consider a masterpiece was released in 1994 to critical acclaim. His timing wasn't the best in the world because his roots oriented music just didn't go over well with country radio or the line dancing country crowd of the 1990's. He eventually parted ways with Asylum Records and was signed by Imprint Records in 1997. His second album, "Desire Road" which sported more of a Byrds influence than the first album again was met with critical acclaim. Unfortunately Imprint Records folded before really breaking Woodruff on the national scale as he deserved. Bob Woodruff has sort of faded in obscurity in the past ten years, but recently has been working on a new project with producer Darryl Swann in Los Angeles.
