Plot Summary
Harry Joy, an advertisement executive, goes through a near-death experience during a heart attack. He awakens in a dark version of the world he knew. His wife is unfaithful, his daughter buys hard drugs from his son and his latest client is a cancer by-product polluter. He tries to stay morally correct at the dismay of everyone around him. Fighting for his sanity, he runs off with an ex-prostitute.

Awards
The film won the Best Film, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay Awards and was nominated for 10 more Awards of the Australian Film Institute in 1985. It was also nominated for the Palme d'Or (Goilden Palm) at the Cannes Film Festival in the same year.
