Blackstone Edge

Blackstone Edge is an area of moorland at 472 metres (1323 ft) high, along the Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire county boundary, England. It is a spot often visited by walkers and amateur mountain climbers. One walking route is a circular walk from Hollingworth Lake in Littleborough up to Blackstone Edge and back. Another one starts from Blackstone Edge and takes walkers to the West Yorkshire town of Hebden Bridge. Blackstone Edge is now known as a landmark on the Pennine Way long-distance footpath, which passes along the top of the outcrop from Edale in the Derbyshire Peak District to Kirk Yetholm in Scotland. It is possible to see Manchester, Winter Hill near Bolton and even the mountains in North Wales in clear weather from here Much of the area used to fall within the ancient parish of Hundersfield, though some parts lay within Butterworth township.
