Over other lines (Ely to Peterborough, Breckland and West Anglia) services continue beyond Peterborough, via March and Ely to Thetford and Norwich or Wendens Ambo (Audley End) and Stansted Airport. The line also has significant freight flows, being one of the main routes to Birmingham Freightliner Terminal (on the site of Birmingham Lawley Street railway station).
