Billy-Montigny is a commune of northern France.
Administration
Billy-Montigny is located in the Pas-de-Calais département. It belongs to the communauté d'agglomération of Lens-Liévin (Communaupole) which gathers 36 communes, with a total population of 250,000 inhabitants.
History
The history of the area remains marked by the mining disaster which caused 1,099 casualties on March 10, 1906 on the territories of Billy-Montigny, Méricourt and Sallaumines.
In Billy-Montigny Communal Cemetery lie the bodies of two WWI British soldiers.
