Bible Black (バイブルブラック, Baiburuburakku^?) is an eroge created by ActiveSoft in 2000 , and was adapted into an anime by Milky Studio. The adaptation of the original game was called La Noche de Walpurgis (The Night of Walpurgis) in English (and simply Bible Black (バイブルブラック, Baiburuburakku^?) in Japanese), and consisted of 6 episodes. Additionally, there are 2 prequel episodes (Origin in US, Sidestory in Japan) and two special "ONLY" episodes. A sequel, titled La Lanza de Longinus (The Lance of Longinus) is currently being produced by Milky Studio as well, with 5 episodes already released. The game as well as both seasons of the anime have been translated and released in the U.S. by Kitty Media. The whole series features frequent sex and horror scenes and revolves around a high school rumored to have been the base of operations of a coven several years ago (pre-2000). The school's unofficial "Witchcraft Club", as they called themselves, practiced black magic in the underground basement hidden away at the institute. Teachers, students, professors, and staff practicing the dark occult religion involving incantation sex and sacrifices of innocent victims is a common and recurring theme in all things Bible Black.

Minase, a high school student, found a book of black magic in an isolated room in his school. He started practicing black magic that has extreme sexual effects that benefited him and some of his friends. As Minase got deeper and deeper into using the dark craft, evils came forth. Eventually, the origins of the book were revealed, and so was the incident twelve years ago on the night of the Walpurgis, the night when the power of evil was at its strongest. After coming to his senses, Minase struggles to get himself out of the darkness that he had put himself into.

Original Japanese title was simply Bible Black (バイブルブラック, Baiburu Burakku^?), same as the game. At a harmless looking high school, the teachers and staff are practicing a dark religion. By devoting their bodies to perversion, they chant their dark spells and control the lusts of the student body. Everywhere the students turn, they are drawn to acts of perversion, even in public. The cult is run by the school nurse, Miss Kitami. Looking for a virgin girl to serve as a sacrifice to take her body, she holds special counseling sessions for the female students. Before Kitami, the magic club was originally run by the art teacher Miss Takashiro. When she was a student alongside Kitami, she found the Black Book. However, Kitami used the Black Book to pervert the students and teachers as her followers, from which the current events are set into motion. Minase, a student of the school, finds the Black Book, but is seduced by Kitami, and then is possessed by a lesser demon. Through their special induction ceremonies, the two converted Miss Takashiro and her followers: Shiraki, the most popular girl in school, and the three other girls from the school's magic club. Then Kitami goes after Imari, a virgin girl who is Minase's neighbor and childhood friend. Minase must either help Kitami to pervert Imari with a ritual orgy or fight the dark lust growing inside of him and protect her. The black night of Walpurgis has finally arrived. Will Minase be able to resist his mistress' will before she succeeds in the ritual?

Origins

Japanese title was Bible Black Sidestory (バイブルブラック外伝, Baiburuburakku Gaiden^?). Before the events of Bible Black, Takashiro and Kitami were still high school students. Takashiro starts the first Magic Club when she finds the book, Bible Black, in an antique bookstore. Her experimentation with its black magic powers escalates to include the whole school. Kitami, the pure virginal transfer student, is also caught up and corrupted by the ensuing debauchery.

La Lanza de Longinus

Japanese title was New Bible Black (新・バイブルブラック, Shin Baiburuburakku^?). The English translation is called "Bible Black: New Testament". Years have passed since the Night of Walpurgis, and the girls of the Witchcraft Club have all graduated and made their way in the world. Both Shiraki and Saeki become teachers at their school, while Takashiro sensei becomes a nun. Imari has become a police woman, who serves as a psychic investigator in the Tokken division. Her team is looking into a series of horribly gruesome murder cases that all happened during sexual intercourse. Strangely, witnesses see a ghostly figure at the crime scenes. Saeki restarts the Witchcraft Club with a new crop of girls, but is she fighting Kitami or helping her? Meanwhile, Imari and her subordinate in Tokken are caught up in a bank robbery conducted by occult robbers. An impromptu ceremony performed at the scene causes Kitami to take over the possessed Imari. In the aftermath, Imari steals the Lance of Longinus from the bank vault that the robbers were after. Imari/Kitami has found the virginal "Scarlet woman" in her subordinate, Aki. She indulges in the sexual ceremony with her using the Lance of Longinus. Meanwhile, the ghostly figure, identified as Jody Crowley, and Takashiro both interfere with the ceremony but with different intentions. The Lance becomes permanently lodged within Aki's vagina and she is now targeted by the various forces of black magic. The final ceremony climaxes with the black magic forces of Imari/Kitami and Jody Crowley competing over the Scarlet woman. Attacks fly all around while Takashiro and Captain Yuge struggle to defeat the both of them and end the dark ceremony. When Jody seems to emerge truimphant, the Lance of Longinus reappears out of Aki and reanimates the original grimoire, Bible Black. The devil emerges to take the souls of contract: Kitami Reika and Jody Crowley. A final effort by Takashiro manages to seal the grimoire while Jody's soul is taken and Kitami manages to possess Jody's body instead. The final scene seems peaceful with everybody content with the world, but in one of the final shots, we see that Aki's laptop screen saver happens to be several images of a menacing Kitami, hinting that there may be a third season. Most of the characters from La noche de Walpurgis return in La Lanza, however, Minase has yet to make an appearance and is only mentioned once. It is possible that under the influence of Kitami, Imari killed Minase even before the events of La Lanza since Kitami did mention to Minase that she would kill him after possessing Imari's body.
