Bella Vista is a small, rural unincorporated town about 9 miles north-east of Redding, California, and about 5 miles north of Palo Cedro, California. Although there is no official census data available, there is an estimated population of approximately 1,200 residents. Other nearby towns include: Millville (pop. 610), Shingletown (pop. 2,222), Oak Run (pop. 760), Whitmore (pop. 593), and Round Mountain (pop. 122).

Demographics

As of 2000, the US Census Bureau does not define a place named Bella Vista, but it does define the ZIP Code 96008, which includes the communities of Jones Valley and Ingot. The town of Bella Vista also shares a Redding ZIP Code on its west and north sides. It will most likely become a CDP at the 2010 Census. As of 2005, 966 people have a Bella Vista address. The ZCTA of 96008 may be expanded to 90 square miles to cover some of the rural parts of zip code 96003, including the community of Jones Valley, which currently uses Bella Vista PO boxes. At the 2000 Census, there were 894 people, of which 840 were white, 2 black, 15 American Indian, 3 Asian, 74 of mixed race, and 3 of other race in ZIP Code 96008.
