Dr. Belinda Noah is an attorney and a law professor from Tampa Bay, Florida. She initially intended to challenge Congresswoman Katherine Harris (R-FL) in a primary for the 2006 Republican U.S. Senate nomination, but decided to skip the primary and face incumbent Senator C. William Nelson (D-FL) in the general election. Noah ran on the platform of the FairTax and illegal immigration reform. She advocates clearing the backlog of legal immigrant applications that typically languish for years or even decades. She is also in favor of a Constitutional Amendment to protect victim's rights and supports, where appropriate, community-based rehabilitation programs for first-time offenders. She received 0.5% of the vote.
