In 1993, the new currency, the Namibian dollar, was issued by the Bank of Namibia. There are 100 cents in one Namibian dollar. The range of denominations reflected the strong influence from the Rand. In fact, the Rand remains legal tender in Namibia along with the Namibian Dollar at a ratio of 1:1.
