Bancroft is a town in Kingsbury County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 37 at the 2000 census.
Geography
Bancroft is located at (44.487523, -97.750803)GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.6 km²), all of it land.
Demographics
As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 37 people, 13 households, and 10 families residing in the town. The population density was 157.9 people per square mile (62.1/km²). There were 15 housing units at an average density of 64.0/sq mi (25.2/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White. There were 13 households out of which 46.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 76.9% were married couples living together, and 15.4% were non-families. 15.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.85 and the average family size was 3.18. In the town the population was spread out with 27.0% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 18.9% from 45 to 64, and 21.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 131.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 107.7 males.
