The Bachelor of Journalism degree is a professional degree awarded to students who have studied journalism at a three or four-year accredited university. Not all universities, however, grant this degree. In the United States some schools tend to offer journalism as a Bachelor of the Arts, Journalism, or Bachelor of Science, Journalism and is often offered as part of or in conjunction with Mass communication.

Journalism School Accreditation in the U.S.
The organization that accredits university level journalism programs is the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. In the U.S. there are currently 109 accredited programs in 40 states.
