"Avon"
Song by Queens of the Stone Age
Album Queens of the Stone Age
Recorded 1998
Genre Hard rock
Length 3:22
Label Loosegroove
Writer Josh Homme

Avon is the second track on Queens of the Stone Age's self-titled debut album. Originally a track from Volumes 3 & 4 of The Desert Sessions, the song was later rerecorded and is the first of six Desert Sessions songs to appear on a Queens of the Stone Age album. That paticular volume also contains a song entitled "Nova", which is essentially "Avon" with different lyrics and vocals (Pete Stahl replaces Josh Homme). It is also of note that Avon is Nova spelled backwards. The song has been a staple of the majority of live sets since the albums release and is still occasionally played by the band on the Era Vulgaris tour.
