Avalon High is a young adult novel by Meg Cabot, published in 2005.

Plot summary

Elaine "Ellie" Harrison has just moved from Minnesota to Annapolis, Maryland while her parents take a year long sabbatical to continue their medieval studies in nearby DC. Her new high school, Avalon High, seems like a typical high school with the stereotypical students: Lance the jock, Jennifer the cheerleader, and Will, the senior class president, quarterback, and all around good guy. But not everyone at Avalon High is who they appear to be, not even Ellie herself.

In spite of Ellie's budding friendship with Will, who she feels like she has met in another lifetime, she cannot figure out just how involved she should get in the drama unfolding in his life. And what of the odd parallels between their lives and the Arthurian legend that her parents study, including that of Elaine of Astolat, the Lady of Shalott? Why does she feel herself falling for Will when she knows that he is Jennifer's boyfriend? And why is she getting suspicions about Will step brother Marco? A magnificent plotline with chilling twists and a cunning villan will be uncovered by the end of Avalon High. Recently the manga version has been released it is called: The Merlin's Prophecy. Movie rights have been bought by Disney Channel.
