Authority to Proceed, ATP, is a term commonly used by government organisations or law enforcement agencies with reference to an organisation or department providing services, or to an individual waiting for go-ahead signal to take a certain action. In commercial contract terms, ATPs are normally issued to parties providing services under phased agreements. For example, its common to hear people saying ATP for Phase 2 is obtained after successful completion of testing of Phase 1.
