Andreas Herzog (born September 10, 1968 in Vienna, Austria) is a former Austrian football (soccer) player, the country's all-time cap leader. Herzog was well-known for his ability to score stunning free-kicks. He began his career at Rapid Vienna, but was sent out on loan to First Vienna FC [1] during 1987-88. Herzog quickly became successful and was recalled to Rapid to start the 1988-89 season. On the club level, Herzog played for Rapid Vienna (1986-92, 2001-03), First Vienna FC (loan) 1988 Werder Bremen (1992-95, 1996-2002), Bayern Munich (1995-1996), and the Los Angeles Galaxy (2004). He played in the 1990 and 1998 World Cups for Austria, and scored 27 goals in his national record 103 caps. Herzog retired from soccer in 2004, after one year with the Los Angeles Galaxy, finishing the season with four goals and seven assists.
