The Anaheim Splash was a soccer team that played in the Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL). Founded in 1993 as Los Angeles United while playing at the Great Western Forum, the team had the weakest draw by far of the seven initial teams even though it was owned by Jerry Buss, owner of the Los Angeles Lakers. After the first season, the team was sold and moved to Anaheim. It was also renamed the "Splash" (probably in deference to their new venue, the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, which also hosted the water-themed Clippers of the NBA, Mighty Ducks of the NHL, and Anaheim Bullfrogs of the RHI and MLRH). Though the team's popularity surged over the course of the next few years, it wasn't popular or lucrative enough to survive the disbanding of the CISL in 1997.
