The Almighty Vice Lord Nation! (abbreviated AVLN, VLN or ASVLN) is the oldest and second-largest street gang in Chicago. They are believed to have been originally formed sometime in 1958, as a youth gang in the Illinois State Training School for Boys in St. Charles, also known as the St. Charles Juvenile Correctional Facility. Many of the youths came from the impoverished 16th Street Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago. Their demise was largely due to Cointelpro type operations carried out by the Chicago Police Department. Though the gang's official colors are black and gold, members wear all colors, and they are part of a larger, Chicago-based gang coalition known as the People Nation. The Vice Lords also have a large presence in cities such as Detroit, Indianapolis, Milwaukee,Terre Haute, and Minneapolis. There's an estimate of 30,000+ members in the gang. . Vice Lords which were mainly African-Americans, but the gang is gaining a large number of Hispanic members. Vice Lords are apart of the People Nation which is a group of about 20-50 different gangs with one of them being the Latin Kings. Their rivals are Folk Nation.

- Martini glass
- Top hat
- Cane
- Five-point star - The five points represent (clockwise from top): Love, truth, peace, freedom, and justice

Current gang factions
Some of the numerous factions of Vice Lords are:
- Traveling Vice Lords (TVL)
- Cicero Insane Vice Lords (CIVL)
- Conservative Vice Lords (CVL)
- Mafia Insane Vice Lords (MIVL)
- Renegade Vice Lords (RVL)
- Unknown Vice Lords (UVL)
- Undertaker Vice Lords (UTVL)
- Imperial Insane Vice Lords
- Spanish Vice Lords
- Miami Vice Lords
- Insane Vice Lords (IVL)
The various factions of Vice Lords street gangs are not necessarily allies (but when taking out rival folk nation gangs they will unite for one purpose). Some factions are vicious rivals of other factions, showing a degree of in-fighting (as is the case with Gangster Disciples and Black Disciples from the rival Folks Nation). However, in the Illinois Prison system, Vice Lord factions usually come together as a unified Vice Lord 'nation'. The 4 Corner Hustlers are a separate faction of the Vice Lords gang, and are not identified as Vice Lords, but as their own independent. Four Corner Hustlas are mainly the drug dealing and cartel aspect of the Vice Lord Nation. Each faction of the Vice Lords has their own 'Chief' and ranking officers. However, high-ranking members that hold the title of 'Universal Elite' are to be given respect by all Vice Lord factions. They are usually called "Lord Almighty". See also
