Allison Vernon-Williams is fictional character in the film Cry-Baby, portrayed by Amy Locane. She is a high school student who lives with her rich, overprotective grandmother, Mrs. Vernon-Williams, who is a widow. Both of her parents died on two separate airplanes and nothing is known about her grandfather. Judging by the age of the character in the movie, Allison was born in the late 1930s. Allison resides in Baltimore during the late 1950s and previously had another boyfriend before dating juvenile delinquent Wade. She dumped him near the beginning of the film because he was a square. However, she was forced to endure his signing at a talent show when she clearly preferred Wade Walker for his rebellious rock and roll ways. Although her grandmother prohibited her from visiting Turkey Point, she went there with her new boyfriend Wade when she found out that she was a Scrape (half square, half Drape). After learning that Wade's parents were given the death penalty for their criminal past, she saw that lightning (unconsciously referring to the electric chair) made her boyfriend go crazy and then the Squares came out to have a brawl with the Drapes. After the police stopped the brawl, Allison was almost sent to training school along with her boyfriend Wade Walker, but the local judge's relationship with her grandmother made him go lenient on her. Allison eventually became the Naughty Lady of Shady Lane and ruined her reputation among her fellow "squares" for hanging out with the Drapes, who are a local gang of greasers. Using her influence, she forced the jailor at her boyfriend's training school to release him, because he was only in prison for being young. At the end of the film, Allison and Wade fall in love and the film ended. On the DVD cover, Allison Vernon-Williams is seen wearing pants. However, in the movie, she is seen in skirts and dresses, as the movie takes place before women's liberation.
