Allenby Street is a main traffic arterial in Tel Aviv, Israel. It was named in honor of Lord Edmund Allenby. Allenby Street stretches from the Mediterranean sea in the north-west to Tel Aviv's HaAliya street on the south-east. It was first covered by cement (in its western part) in 1914. It has approximately 22 streets crossing it. Walking the street from one end to another takes an average of 45 minutes. Allenby street is known for its diversity of clothing and food shops, and cafes. Also today there are 15 book stores across the street. Several famous films were filmed in it, as it is also known to be the only place in Israel to buy antique 8 mm cameras (at the area of the corner of Ben-Yehuda Street). At night Allenby offers a variety of pubs, bars and restaurants. Some of its know pubs are The Minzar, The Freeland, Cafe Bialik, Cafe Central, Shoshana Johnson, The Minerva.

The buses that run through it are many and vast and reach out to practically every other city in Gush Dan. The most recognized lines are 4 and 16, as those lines also have Sherut shared taxis that follow the buses to answer the high demand.
