Alexis Ruano Delgado (born August 4, 1985 in Málaga), simply known as Alexis, is a Spanish professional footballer. He plays as a central defender for Valencia in La Liga. Alexis joined Getafe from Malaga before the 2006-07 season. He had played for Málaga for three seasons and before that for Malaga B. Alexis scored the winning goal for Getafe CF against Real Madrid in a 1-0 win on 14 October2006 in La Liga, and was part of the best defence in La Liga that season, conceding only 33 goals in 38 games. His impressive performances for Getafe attracted some of the world's biggest clubs including AC Milan, Valencia, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Valencia won his services and signed him to a deal that will keep him at the Mestalla until at least 2013, beating off competition from Real Madrid.[1]
