The Air Efficiency award, abbreviated to AE when placed after a holder's name, was a United Kingdom honour given for ten years' efficient service in the Royal Auxiliary Air Force. It was instigated in 1942. Use of the post-nominals AE is restricted to officers only. The award was discontinued on 1 April, 1999, and replaced by the Volunteer Reserves Service Medal.
