Adam Hartford Seward (born June 15, 1982 in Las Vegas, Nevada) is an American football linebacker who currently plays for the Carolina Panthers of the NFL. Seward was drafted by Carolina in the 5th round (149th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft. Seward attended college in his hometown of Las Vegas for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he played four years for the Rebels. Seward was known as a versatile player while in college, as he played all three linebacker positions. He was rewarded for his prowess with three All-Mountain West Conference honors. When he graduated in 2004, he left as the all-time leader in tackles (433) in both UNLV and MWC history. He also had six sacks, five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and two interceptions. In high school, Seward not only played linebacker, but fullback as well. In addition to football, he was a star athlete in track (shot put & discus), and won the Nevada state heavyweight title in wrestling. His father, Tom, played for Eastern Illinois University, and was the co-captain of the squad which won the NCAA Division II football title in 1978. He later was an assistant coach for UNLV from 1986 - 1989. Seward's mother, Amy, was a cheerleader for the Chicago Bears. He has a younger brother, Mark, and a younger sister, Elizabeth. Mark is a football player at Saddleback College, and Elizabeth is a member of the Nevada Wolfpack Cheer Squad.
