Look and feel

The user interface is designed to resemble the older PalmOS releases, with a design aim being preserving the Zen of Palm, a design philosophy that revolves around making the applications as simple as they can be.

Base frameworks

Similarly to Maemo (Nokia's internet tablet framework), ALP works on a GTK and GStreamer framework. Both of these are licenced under the LGPL, meaning that ALP is a Free environment on the software level.
