thermistor

A semiconductor in which electrical resistance is inversely correlated to temperature, i.e. the greater the temperature the less the electrical resistance. This capacity is employed in using thermistors as temperature sensors, their small size making them useful particularly in measuring microclimates in electronics and medical applications.
