Standard Assessment Task (SAT)

Standard Assessment Tasks are part of the national curriculum assessment procedures. Originally conceived as normal classroom assignments with built-in assessment, they have become largely pencil and paper tests. Since 1990 Standard Assessment Tasks have been renamed Standard Tests or Standard Tasks (STs). But they are still widely referred to as SATs.
