A physical, social or mental ability acquired mainly as a result of practice and repetition. Skill is frequently contrasted with knowledge, but this is an over-simplification. It may be convenient to divide educational objectives into knowledge, skills and attitudes, but it should always be recognised that these are overlapping categories.
