Dictionary of Environmental Health

Regulation

A piece of legislation made under the powers of an ACT. In practice more than one Regulation is usually contained in a single document and collectively they are known as ‘Regulations’ with each discrete section or paragraph being denoted as a Regulation.

Regulations are subservient to the Act under which they are made. Regulations are also known as SECONDARY LEGISLATION.
