Probability

Mathematical measurement of how likely it is that something will happen, expressed as a fraction or percentage.

Values for statistical probability range from 1 or 100% (always) to 0 or 0% (never). The relative frequency obtained after a long run of measurements or results will give good approximations to the true probability. It is also understood in other ways as expressing in some indefinable way a “degree of belief,” or as the limiting frequency of an occurrence in an infinite random series.
