Routledge Dictionary of Economics, Second Edition
A wage agreement which follows the pay deal of a dominant bargaining group.
Sweden and Japan both have co-ordinated bargaining of this kind, often with the bargain of the metal industries setting a pattern for other bargaining groups of TRADE UNIONS and EMPLOYERS’ ASSOCIATIONS. Lower inflation and higher levels of employment are associated with centralized collective bargaining of this kind.
