A measure of distance or length. There are various definitions, but the term is usually applied to the standard British or US mile, a distance of 1,760 yards, equivalent to 1.609 KILOMETRES (km). The Admiralty nautical mile is equivalent to 1.853 km; an international nautical mile is equivalent to 1.852 km.
