Men Shen

Two Chinese gods whose function is to look after gateways and doors. Armed with halberd, bow and arrow and magic symbols, they guard the entrances of houses and palaces. Paper images of them were stuck on to doors during the New Year celebrations in order to protect the inhabitants from evil demons.
