List Pim Fortuyn, or Lijst Pim Fortuyn (LPF), is the populist right-wing party in the Netherlands that was founded in February 2002 by Pim Fortuyn. The party campaigns for tough action against immigrants who do not assimilate into Dutch society, stronger measures to reduce crime and less state bureaucracy. It has also proposed a reform of the section of the Dutch Constitution that prohibits discrimination.
The party performed well in elections held on 15 May 2002, nine days after the assassination of Pim Fortuyn. It won 26 of 150 seats, thereby becoming the second largest party in the Tweede Kamer, and formed part of the first coalition of Jan Peter Balkenende together with the Christian Democratic Appeal and the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy, providing four ministers. However, the coalition collapsed following the resignation of two ministers in October 2002. The LPF has eight seats in the current Tweede Kamer that was elected on 22 January 2003.
