Happiness

(In P.Sukha, the opposite of Dukkha, q.v.). To the Bst. happiness is a by-product of right living, and never an end in itself. The sense of happiness and unhappiness are both transcended in the course of mind-development (Bhāvanā, q.v.). Happiness should not be confused with spiritual states of consciousness such as Samādhi, or Prajñā.
