(from Spanish, chocolate, which was derived from Nahuatl (the language of a group of south and central American peoples, including Aztec), chócolatl). Chocolate is a paste made from the seeds of Theobroma cacao (that is, from cocoa beans) which can be transformed into blocks or other confections.

It has been claimed that it is possible to form an ADDICTION to chocolate. Such addiction would reflect the high levels of CAFFEINE found in it; see TEA AND COFFEE for discussion of this.
