Dictionary of Biological Psychology
This describes a technique in MICROSCOPY by which an image from a microscope is projected on to a sheet of paper (using what is known as a drawing tube fitted to the micrscope).
Looking through the eyepieces of the microscope, one can then see both the paper (and one’s pen or pencil on the paper) and a SECTION on the microscope stage and it is possible to draw accurately what one is looking at. Although the drawings often are aesthetically pleasing, the increasing availability of computerized IMAGE ANALYSIS has reduced the use of camera lucida.
