An abnormal behaviour shown by rats, usually as part of range of CONVULSIONS and SEIZURES seen following administration of EXCITOTOXINS.
Barrel rolling involves a rat rolling about its long axis (that is, the axis between the nose and tail). Episodes are relatively rare and, when they do occur following excitotoxin administration, never persist for more than approximately 2 hours, during the immediate recovery period.
