Atmospheric pressure generally decreases with altitude, but the pressure also varies according to meteorological conditions and temperature. Standard atmospheric pressure at sea level equates to 1013.25 millibars, being 101.3 kilopascals, 760 mm of mercury or 14.7 pounds per square inch (psi).
