articulator (also articulatory organ)
1 In the narrow sense (also active articulator), the (relatively) mobile organs used for articulation, especially the lips, lower jaw, and the various parts of the tongue.
The primary active articulator is the single most relevant active articulator.
2 In the broader sense, all organs involved in articulation, i.e. the movable organs as well as the stationary places of articulation, the glottis, lungs, and so on. (
