Summary

In "Merge," Keith begins walking an old woman Cordis's dog, Moppet, after his girlfriend Celeste goes to Europe. When his father tells him that he will not pay for his continued education unless he moves out of the house, Keith ends up without a job or place to live. When he meets Celeste by chance on the street while she is walking Moppet several months prior, the two begin a relationship. He explains his tenuous living and job situation over the course of several coffee dates. Eventually Celeste tells him he can stay with her until getting on his feet. Keith, however, lacks motivation and ends up staying with Celeste for some time.

When she tells Keith her company is sending her to Europe he asks to stay in her place. She has already arranged for other people to sublet the space, but suggests...
