The Gift of Rain Mountain. Summary

Mactun is lying on the hillside daydreaming while his older brother, Baxmal, and friend, Chulchun, spy on the neighboring city. Baxmal is woken up by his brother and told to run and tell the leaders of the city a message. Scaled Jaguar, the neighboring city's leader, is hosting the army of their enemy, Smoke Bat. Mactun isn't much of a warrior, but he knows that if their neighbor is befriending the enemy then his people may be in trouble. Mactun begins to make his way down the mountainside. He dodges vines, mud and other obstacles. Once he makes it out of the jungle he will be free to run as fast as he can.
