Summary

In Chapter 21, Grace drove to the neighborhood where Jonathan and was surprised when Mitchell welcomed her into their home. David, Jonathan’s father, swept her into a hug. Naomi asked if Henry was with her. She was clearly bitter because she had missed so much of her grandson’s life. As they prepared coffee and cake Grace wondered how they could act as if they had not played a role in what Jonathan had become.

Grace learned that David and Namoi had received their wedding invitation but Jonathan had called and told them not to come. Mitchell remembered he had gone anyway but Jonathan had told him to leave after the ceremony was over.
